it was a very long day and saoirse was actually getting really tired of all the bullshit she had to deal with. she knew damn well that it was her job – no, even more than that, it was her duty or responsibility or whatever to do that and most of the time she was certainly happy to do everything that needed to be done, but sometimes she missed something relaxing. there wasn’t a lot of space for relaxing in her line of work, but then she decided she would relax at least a little. and his place was actually the first place to come to her mind when she thought about it. he made her feel safe and that was something she missed in the last year. but now he was back and the things between them took an unexpected turn and saoirse liked it.

so here she was: carefully, slowly and especially quietly breaking in his villa. that would probably be really complicated in any other given moment, but this evening she considered herself lucky because at the moment she approached the house, she noticed an open window. saoirse was always a great climber. she knew the inside of the house and she had no problems finding the bedroom. it was one o’clock in the night – it was the only place where she could find him. she was going to wake him up and tell him about her day and all the normal things, but then she saw him sleeping and he seemed so… peaceful, so happy, that she couldn’t make herself wake him up. instead of that, she quietly got rid of her tight black clothes and snuck into his bed in her underwear. she actually pulled it off, he was still asleep as she cuddled up to him really carefully and closed her eyes. this… this was perfect. she brushed her lips over his skin and before she knew it, she was sleeping too.

due to nightmares and slight insomnia he never slept without stirring and without being at least half-aware of his surroundings. it was a deformation that came along with the job description. in a war zone you always had to be fully prepared to wake up in the middle of the night and slash the throat of your enemy. when it came to assassinations, your victims always slept along your side – no matter their corrupted nature. that's why it was surprising how he immediately fell right back to sleep as he felt a soft female body cuddle up to him and he recognized the sweet velvet scent of her skin. he didn’t bother asking her what the hell was she doing and how she managed to get inside of his house – she had her ways, he was sure of that. and right now it just felt so good to sleep next to her.

the alarm went off at four o’clock in the morning as it always did. his morning routine never changed. he always got up early, went out running or hit the gym inside his house. at first he wasn’t sure what exactly was different. but something definitely was. he reached out towards the cupboard and shut off the alarm. his other arm was captivated under something and his body curled back to the softness beside him without giving it much thought. ‘’saoirse,’’ he mumbled the first name that came to mind and slowly he remembered her arrival just a few hours ago. ‘’I have to get up, babe,’’ he sighed into her hair and nuzzled closer to her. his arm pulled her closer and for some reason this didn’t feel weird at all. her in his bed. her beside him. it was… normal. sort of. ‘’next time, wear some clothes,’’ he groaned as he slowly comprehended why there was so much naked skin next to him and his hand found the edge of her underwear. not that he was wearing pijamas. but her. uh, just the thought of that body was completely tantalizing. ‘’go make me breakfast, and walk very slowly.’’

everything seemed pretty much amazing if she ignored the annoying beeping noise something in the room was making. it woke her up, but she refused to be woken up like that so she kept her eyes closed and didn’t make any movements. it was better that way, right? she didn’t even realize she wasn’t home until she heard a familiar, yet so unfamiliar voice say her name and when he spoke again, she slowly nodded with her eyes still closed. “no, right now, you don't need to do anything. trust me, I’m the boss,” she smiled a little and cuddled up to him again as he pulled her closer. it was amazing; maybe a bit unexpected because she did not see the normal morning coming, but still great. she looked at him and smiled; a happy smile lighted up her face. “I am wearing clothes. see?” she pointed at her bra and her hand slowly slid down its lace.

she was completely awake now and she moved and leaned on her elbows so she was able to look at him. “so is this how you greet women in your bed?” she grinned as she rolled a bit away from him and stretched her body almost cat-like and then sat up in his bed, her eyes still on him. “good morning, wonderful,” she murmured as she moved back to him again and brushed her lips against his collarbone. she enjoyed that. she enjoyed everything. and then he spoke again and she frowned a little at his words. “really, marco? I honestly don’t even know where your kitchen is,” she chuckled as her fingers slowly started to draw little patterns on his bare skin. “I’m sorry, but I can’t feed you. but I can do something else,” she grinned and then took her time leaning closer to him; just brushing her lips against his at first and then she kissed him. even before she did it she knew it would be amazing – and it was.

‘’I do. I have to get up and go jogging. and then I have to show up at this villa that the irish mob owns and be a good little soldier,’’ he started to explain but her movements against his body made it very difficult to form coherent thoughts. it was like trying to follow a fast driving cars with your eyes even as it disappeared from your view. impossible. ‘’yes, I can see. why are you wearing clothes?’’ he glanced down and practically stared at her hand sliding down the front of her lacy bra. she really liked to wear lace. he approved. and his thoughts all sounded as if they belonged to some caveman neanderthal. ‘’what women?’’ his lips formed a wide smile that will probably freak her out since he rarely smiled at all. his eyes followed her stretching and he didn’t even try to hide his reaction to every exposed inch of her body. ‘’uh, good morning,’’ he muttered back. ‘’you’ll learn. probably. I mean. will you? learn where my kitchen is?’’ he asked while her lips were brushing against his collarbone and they were back to torturing his self-control. a few days ago in her office he slipped. he shouldn’t have ripped her underwear and push her against the table, but fuck, it felt so good. right now he was determined to do this right. ‘’sneaking into my bed in the middle of the night is not ‘going slow’,’’ he informed her with a slightly amused smile as she drew doodles with the tip of her finger over his skin. he wanted to protest – he needed food do function – but that kiss silenced him down. he covered her lips with his, ending those slight butterfly touches, and pulled her body closer so that she was lying half on top of him and half on the bed. ‘’this feels normal. it’s weird,’’ he pulled back and gazed at her. he wasn’t complaining, he was just making sure they agreed on at least this one thing.

she just had to chuckle as he spoke. this was a totally new level for them, but they were handling it pretty good. “you can do all of that a bit later. and anyway, I’m sure that the irish mob won’t mind you being a bit late.” she was the personification of the irish mob – so she was able to make such decisions. “how do you like your new job so far anyway?” she asked and titled her head a little. this was actually a serious question, even though she wasn’t sure if she wanted to know that because it would be good to get an inside view or just because she wanted to make sure that he liked being a part of her family. “I thought you just said I should wear some clothes next time. you should make up your mind about that,” she smiled at him again. yes, he was absolutely amazing. but then again yes, she already knew that.

“I think I can do that, yes. and even make you breakfast or lunch or whatever every now and then if you’ll let me. and, of course, if you trust me and my cooking abilities,” she replied to his words. her cooking abilities were actually quite good, but people always just assumed that she was horrible in kitchen. she didn’t mind. “I never really agreed with the ‘slow’ part, did I?” she grinned. “I just said we will do this – whatever this is – right. and coming here seemed right, even though I will admit that I didn’t do it the most ordinary way,” she said as she was getting lost in his eyes. the kiss was amazing. he pulled her closer and she was more than happy to let him do that. “it is weird!” she was still smiling. “but it also feels right,” she had to add. because it did and she thought he should know that. “why are you looking at me like that?” she asked and then climbed on him; just because she could and she felt like it. she placed each of her legs at the sides of his body as she smiled again. she wasn't sitting on him - the pressure of her body on his was almost not there, but it was there and she achieved her goal if the gentle contact of their bodies was driving him at least a little insane - almost like it was doing that to her.

‘’it’s okay. i’ll get used to it,’’ he answered sincerely. it was too soon to give her a proper opinion of his new job, but he was willing to work hard at it. it was just who he was, always shooting for the excellence. ‘’well, that was before you flaunted your body at me and made my fingers itch to take the bra off,’’ he narrowed his eyes right on her cleavage but otherwise made no move to act upon his wishes. he knew there was something he was supposed to do, get up or something. but he forgot all about it the moment she kicked the sheets of her body. ‘’I ate shit during my military service. I can handle your cooking abilities,’’ he sighed with content and wondered if she’ll burn the toast and overcook the eggs. ‘’you’re right. you didn’t. but I did,’’ he pointed out. by now she should’ve known how stubborn he could be when he wanted. ‘’don’t you get it? everything feels right, that’s why I’m so suspicious and cautious about it. because every fucking thing feels right,’’ he raised his arm and let the hand dwell on the side of her hips, before looking up to her: ‘’like what?’’ how was he looking at her? he had no idea. he simply liked what he saw and it went beyond her physical perfection, beyond the toned body and golden hair. ‘’ugh, here we go again,’’ he groaned as he already expected her to do something he didn’t approve of. and surely she got up to straddle him and sat down low on the v of his stomach. ‘’you can do whatever you want, saoirse, but I’m not changing my mind. we’re going s-lo-don’t do that, slow,’’ he got interrupted as she lifted herself up and then slid back down just like he said – slowly. the contact was minimal. barely there. ‘’why are you so impatient, you’ll kill me,’’ he clasped her hips with his hands and pulled her down, the distance non-existent. ‘’are you still pissed off because of the tag-necklace?’’ his eyes got caught on the silver glittering on the swell of her breasts. his tag.

she smiled at him again. “okay. that is all I’m asking for,” she explained. she never really could expect anyone to just fall in love with the job – even though every now and then that did happen – but to slowly adapt to things around their mansion was all she needed and was asking for. besides, she knew she could always depend on marco. she never had such faith at people, especially not in the last year, but he was different. “it’s not like it’s my fault that your fingers are itching,” she looked down and then back at him. her bra was lovely – she was a very complicated girl when it came to that and her underwear was always perfect.

“okay, why does everyone simply assume that I can’t cook? please, do tell me where you kitchen is so I can surprise you,” she demanded with a little grin on her face. she liked that – she seemed to really enjoy the idea of surprising him lately. after all, that was all her little visit was about. she thought about his words a little and then shrugged. “I’m just… I’m just scared, I suppose,” she admitted. she wasn’t smiling now; her eyes were looking at a random point as she gave him that confession. “so I’m just; I don’t know, trying to… god, I don’t even know what I’m trying to do. but I don’t want to screw this up,” she let out a little sigh. it felt better to admit that. his hands were on her hips now as he pulled her back so she was sitting on him now. “and I’m sorry for that,” she replied as he spoke again. she didn’t want to kill him – that much was obvious. but then he changed the topic and her face became serious, when she nodded her head. “honestly? a little, yes. you should’ve told me. besides, I never really not-liked you.” her hand was on the tag again; letting it calm her down and holding onto it tightly.

I wasn’t joking when I mentioned kitchen,’’ he laughed at her expression. she must get that a lot. men who only see her for her body and for her power, not believing she’s actually capable of something more. but he knew she was, of much much more. ‘’in a minute. you’ll see my kitchen in a minute,’’ he nodded and then cupped her face as her eyes darted away and her mind switched somewhere else. they were alike right now. neither one of them completely understood what exactly is going on between them, but they were both willing to simply overlook that. take a risk, take a chance. ‘’saoirse o’brien is scared? hell must’ve frozen over,’’ his lips curled into a smile. ‘’but… don’t be. I’m not sure what is this that we’re doing and I never planned on kissing you whenever I feel like it, but it’ll work out,’’ he held her hands more firmly, just to reassure her. he didn’t want to sound too cheesy but maybe it was like they said: if it’s meant to be, it’ll happen on its own. ‘’by itself. we’ll just go along, okay?’’ his thumb brushed over her lips and once more his eyes dropped to the tag. he could understand why she was angry, but at the time he was sure he could drown every drop of the attraction he felt for her. ‘’I like it on you,’’ he murmured, not looking away. ‘’I like you on me,’’ he then added tightly as she moved just a little bit, but it was enough to rush all of his blood downward. ‘’but, ugh, babe – food,’’ he sat up with her on his lap and kissed his lips. time for her to prove she’s a brilliant chef.

”very well then,” she gave him a smile of approval. ”because you know, I wouldn’t be too happy if it would turn out that you think that woman belong to the kitchen or some other bullshit like that. luckily, I know you don’t think that so… lovely,” she declared with a big smile on her face. he was making her happy. he didn’t even have to do anything and she was happy – from the moment she snuck into his house on. she just had to smile as he continued talking. that honest little confession she gave him – it wasn’t easy for her, but she was glad he took it the way he did. simple, not complicating anything and at the same time reassuring her. ”but you can, you know? at this point, you can do whatever you want with me,” she said, as if he didn’t already know that.

she nodded again. ”okay,” she agreed with his words. he had no idea how much all of this meant to her. how much he meant to her. no one ever just… took time with her, got to know her really before jumping into anything. she was actually used to men sleeping with her and then she just pushed everyone away; expect maybe one or two exceptions, but that was in the past now. ”and I like you, so I guess that everything works out in the end,” she smiled again. he was amazing, he really was and he didn’t even realize it. he gave her butterflies and when he kissed her again, she felt them in her stomach, going wild because of the touch of his lips on hers. ”I can’t believe you actually give me butterflies,” she murmured another quiet confession. she chuckled at his words. ”priorities, marco, yes, I know,” she said as she got off him and stood up. she stretched her body again and then looked over her shoulder back to him. ”so, kitchen.” she would so much rather just kiss him and cuddled with him some more, but she decided she was going to do this his way. she wanted to; he was worth it.

‘’I just want you to be safe and sound. and considering your profession that is practically impossible,’’ he sighed and brushed her hair back away from her face. she was unbelievably gorgeous. and the weirdest thing was how relaxed they both were. as if this, them, came completely naturally and they weren’t doubting it not even for a second. ‘’unless you would actually consider quitting and then staying at home, doing my laundry. but I think I’d get bored with you in that case,’’ he laughed and then conveniently added: ‘’plus, you look amazing when you kick ass.’’ that one time she managed to make him kiss the floor was pretty fine. even if he was too busy trying to hate her for whatever she did to his brother. ‘’I can’t believe how easy it would be for you to bring me to my knees,’’ he answered to the butterfly comment and then lowered his lips down and managed to press one on her lovely belly button. all thoughts about kisses were however forgotten as she scrambled off and mentioned priorities. ‘’yes, food!’’ he excitedly repeated and got up from the bed. he picked up the first pair of sweats he found, probably discarded them there last night and dressed them up. ‘’are you planning to fry me eggs wearing just that?’’ he carefully asked as she stood in the middle of his bedroom in that glorious lingerie, waiting for him to show her the way around. ‘’by all means – I’m not complaining, just do your thing,’’ he said enjoying the sight and pulled her after him out on the hallway and made their way through the house. he went first, not bothering to tell her which room was which and stopped only as they reached the lower floor. ‘’and this is kitchen. my kitchen. now cook,’’ he stepped inside and then pointed to the stove. ‘’the fridge is… full. kind of. I hope there’re eggs. or something edible. I don’t like shopping. it’s tiresome,’’ he chuckled and sat down on the counter. yes, he planned to watch her cook and do nothing.

she smiled a little. “yeah, safe and sound for me… that’s not going to happen. but it’s okay too. I honestly can’t imagine any other life than this. I was brought up this way. it’s a part of me and I never even considered leaving it all behind,” she admitted, her eyes on him. he did that; he left it all behind and went. there was a huge difference between them, but she was pretty sure that he would feel the same way she did if he was brought up by her father and the irish family. “you cannot be serious! even I would get bored with myself. I don’t think I would know what to do with, you know, ordinary things,” she shrugged. her face lighted up with a smile when he mentioned her ass kicking. “also, I think we should train together sometimes. it would be fun. and honey, I think you would be surprised. one year and a half… it makes a huge difference,” she said with a proud smile this time. she wasn’t even doubting if she would be able to bring him to his knees. she knew some tricks. maybe they were a bit dirty, but then again, no one said she had to play fair.

“who said I was frying you goddamn eggs?” she chuckled and then followed him to the kitchen. it was a lovely room – bright and without any unnecessary things. she walked to the fridge and pushed her long hair aside as she opened it and bit her lip while she was deciding that to make. she took things out and found her way around his kitchen and pretty soon the first pancake was in the pan. she made killer pancakes. she also found some strawberries which she washed and carefully prepared on the place and then went back to the fridge. she was hoping for some whip cream and she was actually surprised to find it. she didn’t even notice when she started to murmur a song while cooking. after a while, the pancakes were ready and she took her time leaning closer to the plates to arrange them. there were pancakes, there was whip cream and strawberries and she was happy. it was great, really. her face was almost surprised, when she turned around to see him still sitting there, but she smiled. “breakfast is ready, love,” she almost proudly declared.

he in fact managed to pout his lips as she denied his requests for eggs. once they came to that magic room where all the cooking usually happened he dropped his ass down on the counter, crossing his arms at this torso. this way he made it perfectly clear he won't be the one preparing breakfast. besides, she snuck inside his bedroom in the middle of the night. the at least she could do to repay the breaking and entering was breakfast. ‘’we can train sometimes together, sure. it should be... interesting,’’ he nodded with a sly smile. ‘’but remember, I’ve been on the field for one year and a half and not just sitting on my ass in the police force as before, when you met me. don't underestimate me,’’ he answered while she started to whip cream and to who knows what else with flour. it started to make shape soon and finally he recognized pancakes in the pan. and she called him honey. and then she suddenly came to stop and announced the food is ready and she called him love. she probably didn't even realize the slip up, but it made his heart flutter a bit inside its shell. he smiled back at her and finally stood up to retrieve some plates, placing them on the table alongside cream and strawberries. ‘’we are actually having breakfast in my house,’’ he sighed, but with content. he stared at her for a moment and then nodded for her to come over and sit at the table. but just when she was close enough, he pulled her down on her lap sideways instead of letting her sit on her own chair. he turned her head towards him and promisingly kissed her lips. ‘’it’s fast and it’s probably a bit irrational, but I never expected it to happen any other way. I still have to ask though – does this, right here, mean that we’re together or…’’ he didn’t even know how to finish that sentence, because for him there were no other options.

she made sure everything was perfect. it had to be; and after all, she was good at decorating stuff, even though it was pretty impossible to tell. after all, she was the don of the irish mafia. her main duty was to tell people what to do and to plan everything into every detail – and most certainly not to prepare pancakes. but this felt right. it was different and she didn’t feel pressured into anything. well, maybe into making it look and taste good. she smiled a little and put the plate in front of him. “yeah, we are. and I made it,” she had to remind him of that too; after all, it was true and he probably knew that saoirse wasn’t the type of girl to make breakfast just like that. this was special. and it was all for him; truly, she was enjoying this.

she was just about to go and sit down when he pulled her closer and kissed her. she moved in his lap so she was sitting more comfortably and then she looked him straight into his eyes as he spoke. “marco,” she started, then thought a little to figure out the right way and then smiled. “I think so? I mean, I would like that very much,” she admitted and her hand found his hand; their fingers intertwined. “but in the end, it’s up to you to decide what you want. there is no one else for me, but being with me could be dangerous,” and she didn’t want to put him in danger. even though she knew he was used to it and everything, but still. she wasn’t able to find all the right words so she just leaned closer and kissed him. and in that kiss was everything she wanted to tell him; all her fears and doubts and hopes and wishes – but in the end, he was the only one that really mattered.

‘’we are together, then,’’ he slowly nodded and this way gave her a chance to take it all back. he wasn’t sure how he would handle it – her taking it all back, but he gave her a chance. it was the fair thing to do. ‘’I haven’t been in a relationship since… forever,’’ his brows furrowed and he immediately thought back to his days of engagement to irina. there were girls before her, but he was only a teenager then. the only woman so far that he actually loved and gave everything too was her, but she was dead. and he stopped loving her long before then. ‘’me and irina… it escalated quickly to engagement and then I was off to military and afterwards when she came here, it just wasn’t the same. I think it was because of you,’’ he murmured, his voice cautious. he lifted his hand and took the fork in, sticking it into the lovely decorated pancakes. ‘’so I might suck at it. I am… clingy and I quickly get jealous. also I have the biggest appetite ever. and I usually demand a lot. so if you’re willing to take all that, then yes. I want this,’’ he patted her bare thigh at his last words and then she was kissing him with full force, her lips full of promise. he knew, yesterday, last week, a year ago. he knew that night when she was drunk and he picked her and ale up, that he could never move on from this. just one taste will never be enough. ‘’I know what dangerous is, saoirse. I only wish you would realize that I’ve seen way more than you and I’m still standing. and I’m not saying that this mobster wars are piece of a cake. but they don’t stand a chance next to religious fanatics shooting innocent people while they’re standing in line for a piece of food,’’ he had to make sure she understood too. he wasn’t some puppy to be left standing on the sidelines. he wanted to be right next to her.

“yes,” she murmured, “yes, we are.” relationship. the thing that would seem like a huge deal to her on any other day felt so unbelievably normal at that moment. she never saw herself like that; hugging a man she actually liked and casually preparing him a breakfast in his house, but with marco it all came to her naturally. she wasn’t going to let it go. she was more than happy to give this relationship a try and to make it work. she remained quiet and let him talk while she carefully listened to every word he said. it was important to her. it was a way of understanding him. she smiled a little when he stopped talking. “well I think I will be able to feed you. and I can deal with that; I can deal with you. also, it’s not like I’m an expert in relationship. I had two more serious relationships. I broke the heart of the first guy; my first love, and it was the only possible thing to do, considering he is the head of the fbi now. and the second one… was your brother. that time my heart got broken. and when I met you…” he probably knew what she was going to say. everything got better. she started falling for him. and it was amazing.

“marco, I know that. I can imagine how horribly dangerous it must’ve been and all the things you’ve been through. I just have this weird way of trying to protect people I love. there aren’t a lot of those and since wesley went to russians… he hates me. and he wants to make me suffer and he wants to make me pay for everything and right now you seem like the best way for him to achieve that. he doesn’t care about anything else. and then again, I’m a horrible person.” the decisions she had to accept… they were horrible; there was no way of denying that. but it was something she had to do. “but I’m yours. and this, us, means a lot to me. and I…” she stopped a little; almost scared to continue but then again, it was something she had to tell him, “I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you.”

the mere thought of her with some other guy bothered him on a whole new level. that was the reason why his jaw tensed as she spoke about her previous relationships. for fuck’s sake. he knew she loved before. he knew she was with his brother before him and while he didn’t feel like a rebound anymore, he still had to make sure she knew he’s nothing like ren. in a good way. he had no plans to run away if and when things get though. ‘’you dated jake freeman?’’ he blurted in disbelieve. ‘’when you met me… what?’’ he needed to heart the words. needed to hear that this was different than anything before. she was probably his last chance at something real, maybe even the only chance. because unlike with irina, he didn’t feel the constant need to protect her and to make sure she was fine. because he had faith In her and he knew she was more than capable to do that on her own. surely he would love to hurt anyone who hurt her, but not before she had a chance to revenge herself. that’s why they’ll eventually need to talk about wesley pierce again, some time soon. ‘’I’m not trying to make you pity me. I’m trying to make you understand, that I get it. I get you. I get what you have to do in order to keep your family alive,’’ he cupped her face and turned her towards him, staring down at her eyes. ‘’wesley pierce never met me, saoirse. and it’s better for him that he never does,’’ this was a promise. a very clear one. he wouldn’t hesitate before putting a bullet inside his brain, if it meant protecting her. he already turned to finally taste those pancakes that were getting cold, when he stopped dead in his tracks. love. ‘’I…’’ he started and then let out a deep sigh before continuing: ‘’you have me.’’ he wanted to say it back, but not right now. not when they had so much problems to deal with before completely diving into oblivion about the whole world besides themselves: ‘’stay here, okay? with me in my house?’’

“well yeah. I did. and we are still friends of some sort,” she said. it was probably something he needed to know and she wanted to show him he can trust her. she had nothing to hide from him and she trusted him completely. it didn’t even matter who she dated or what he did before they met – they couldn’t change the past and she was okay with that much. she smiled a little when he repeated her words. “when I met you, you were someone completely… different from everything I ever knew. I mean, look at you. you’re so goddamn amazing and extraordinary and you were driving me crazy from the moment I met you.” she was quiet for a little while, thinking about those first moments and then she gazed into his eyes. “and now you are mine. I mean, you are, right?” she just wanted to make sure. and besides, it was somehow great to say those words.

she just nodded when he spoke again. she will probably never be able to fully grasp everything he had to do and everything he saw, but she did have an unbelievable amount of respect for him. just because he went through hell and survived and he was with her now, making her feel safe and everything she never could imagine someone would make her feel. “right now, wesley pierce is just… very determined to hurt me. and somehow we keep meeting in those strange circumstances and it is so clear that he wants me dead, but he won’t kill me. not like that. he wants to put me through hell first,” she explained another thing he probably needed to know. she smiled a little when he looked at her after her little confession. she didn’t really except him to say anything back. after all, love was scary and what she said was just something that needed to be said. she thought about his words a little and then nodded. “okay.” it was all that needed to be said. momentary seriousness disappeared from her face as she pointed towards the pancakes. “now eat. they’re eatable, I swear,” she smiled a little and got up from his lap, leaned to the counter and looked at him with a smile on her face.

‘’I’m not sure I like the idea of you spending time with him,’’ he furrowed his brows even deeper. oh yes, that was a strictly jealous tone in his voice. her spending time with an ex? not very pleasurable. much less because he was the boss of federal bureau and that way a threat to the whole irish mob. how did that kind of a friendship even function? she was a mobster leading lady, he was the patriot of righteousness. they had nothing in common. and even if he had no idea who she really was… it was too dangerous for the family. ‘’I was fucked up, saoirse. they fucked me up with all those lies about irina. I wasn’t exactly nice to you. it would’ve been better if you’d just stayed away,’’ his thumb brushed the side of her cheekbones, her skin so soft under his touch. she was gorgeous at this early morning hour. and she was on his lap, in his house, was in his bed. it was right. ‘’I am. completely,’’ he nodded and kissed the top of her forehead in a silent promise. ‘’I don’t want you going anywhere on your own. much less meeting wesley without some sort of a back-up, okay?’’ he then stated, searching her eyes and wanting her to give him a promise. a reassurance she won’t do something foolish. ‘’you’re strong, you’re though, I know that. but he’s a vicious bastard. and I don’t want you near him. ever. is that clear?’’ he continued and then she got up and walked to the counter, leaving him alone with cold pancakes. ‘’I can’t eat when you’re staring at me like that.’’ but he ate them all and then he kissed her some more and then she walked out that door. she’ll probably come back in the middle of the night, at least he hoped so.
