‘’I’m sorry, so sorry,’’ she started to say on repeat, feeling the need to apologize him profoundly over and over again. he must think she’s absolutely crazy. she was the one who suggested this arrangement, she was the one who went down on him. and she completely froze when he intended to return the favors. she enjoyed herself, it felt good. and maybe that’s exactly what freaked her out, because she could get addicted to that kind of good. to him. ‘’shit,’’ she cursed at this realization and then he was pulling her hands away from her face and he slipped his t-shit over her head, so that he covered her naked body. ‘’no, fuck, you’re… you’re perfect,’’ she replied immediately, almost too fast. he only have her what she wanted, he was not the one to blame. her own naivety took it too far. her confidence that she was able to handle it all. ‘’I like you a lot,’’ she whispered very softly and even though she wasn’t hiding her face, she wasn’t looking at him. instead her eyes were settled on a distant spot on the wall on the opposite side of the room. right past him. ‘’you feel safe,’’ she sighed and shook her head as if that was really hard to accept. that people weren’t all bad and messed up, that sometimes they felt right and safe. she closed her eyes as his lips brushed her forehead and then she quickly opened her eyes before he could go away: ‘’I don’t… actually, no. I need something.’’ at first she wanted to deny it. that she needed something, that she wasn’t sufficient to herself. but there was no point in denying it, since it felt as if he saw right through her and knew that something was very wrong. ‘’um, no one ever gave me a hug. so if you could do that, I would really appreciate it…’’ she carefully spoke.

he couldn't take his eyes off her. there was something so amazing about her and he kept finding himself thinking that; thinking how wonderful and different she is. it was the only thought spinning in his head and he just wanted to make her feel okay, even though he didn’t even know what the hell was going on and what was happening. “no, I am most certainly not perfect,” he murmured and had to laugh a little as she spoke. he was messed up and the very thought of him being perfect was almost absurd to him. he felt a weird feeling of warmness somewhere inside of him as she spoke again. it was lovely to hear that you were liked – especially from someone like her.
he didn’t know what to say when she admitted that he felt safe, so he kept quiet and just continued slowly and carefully stroking her long blonde hair. he raised his eyebrows a little when she said she needed something. he was more than ready to give her whatever she desired, but he had to admit she caught him unprepared with her request. and then he got it and stood up. he caught her hand and pulled her on her feet too and then he hugged her. it was a proper hug – his hands were wrapped around her and he was holding her really close. “listen to me,” he murmured, “don’t be sorry about anything. also, you are safe, of course you are safe. you will always be safe with me.” it would be a weird thing to say at any other moment, but right now, at that moment – it just felt right, even though he was almost pathetic.

she only shook her head. he couldn’t possibly imagine how different he was from her brother’s friends. while they stared at her and made obscene remarks… he gave her the sweetest kisses, the most adoring looks and every time he touched her, she felt sparks on her skin underneath his fingertips. therefore he was quite perfect or at least as close to perfection the way she imagined it. she let him pull her up on her feet. she raised her arms and stepped towards him. another thing she had no clue about. she closed her arms around his neck and snuggled her face in the crook of it. she inhaled the soft pleasant smell of his skin and tried to relax into his touch. ‘’I’m listening…’’ she said just so that he’ll be sure. she didn’t move however. her grip on him was so strong it seemed as if she were holding on to him with everything she had. and she was.
‘’I’m acting silly,’’ was her reply. she didn’t want to apologize any further. apologies were a sign of weakness, she didn’t want to be weak. but no matter how hard she tried and pretended it seemed that she’ll never be strong either. so there she was, stuck somewhere in between, which was pathetic on a whole new level. ‘’jonah?’’ she said and had no idea why it turned to be a question. this felt safe, she told him. and as much as she wanted to believe his words she never trusted people. there was this part inside of her that wanted to trust him, wanted to believe what he said was true. but rationality was something different and she was a rational person, not a dreamer. she pushed him gently back to the bed, unhurriedly let go of him and then stepped around. she raised the covers and got herself between them. ‘’I’m sleeping here tonight,’’ she simply informed him.

there was something going on in her head – he could see that much. she seemed a bit distant, most certainly lost in her thoughts as he was hugging her and holding her body close to his. he was still shirtless and she was wearing his shirt, but that didn’t even matter. he was somehow just really happy that she was there. she had proven him right – she was an extraordinary human being and he was looking forward to getting to know her even better, even though he remembered her words well enough. he probably wasn’t even allowed to think that, but in the end, jonah didn’t even care.
“don’t worry about anything,” he replied to her comment. he didn’t think she was acting silly, but then again, he still didn’t know her all that well. she was the amazing blonde he met and made an unusual deal with, but he still had no idea who she was as a person, even though by now he was able to imagine that. and it felt somehow good to hear her call his name, even though firstly, this wasn’t even his real name, and secondly, he wasn’t allowed to feel like that. she pushed him back to bed and he sat down. his eyes followed her as she moved and lied into his bed. “okay then,” he agreed, even though she already decided. he uncovered his side of the bed and got in, turned off the light and gave her a gentle kiss on the head. he made a plan in his head which included getting them breakfast, maybe something from the bakery nearby. he waited for her to fall asleep and when her breathing became more steady and slow he finally allowed himself to fall asleep too.
